With the vast range of Hawaii resorts in Maui many people think that in order to have luxury you have to stay at one of the fancy resorts like the Four Seasons or the Grand Wailea, and while these places are fantastic and beautiful, they aren’t the only option for travelers in order to have a wonderful and luxurious time.
Some other options available that promise the beauty and relaxation of Hawaii as well as a wonderful staff to enhance the experience include the Aston Mahana at Kaanapali and Hale Mahina Beach Resort. For a fraction of the cost of one of the larger resorts, with these two places you get more privacy, convenience of being able to walk to destinations as well as your own kitchen to make your own meals and save your money.
The Aston Mahana at Kaanapali is a diamond that gets forgotten because of the many other more well-known resorts on the island, but for those that stay here they will be pleasantly surprised. With ocean front rooms that have bamboo flooring, mosaic tiling in the bathrooms and granite counters in the kitchen, the accommodations are a nice addition to being located on the beach. With private balconies and floor to ceiling windows in the living area and bedroom you enjoy the ocean and beach even when you aren’t out exploring it. Small warning for families, there are no bathtubs, but they do have a nice pool with hot tub, also the units are close to the ocean so you will hear waves at night, this causes some travelers sleep trouble.
The Hale Mahina Beach Resort offers an excellent view, pool and is located right on the beach. You can enjoy a visit from turtles that show up on the beach everyday, often a highlight for visitors. There is no air conditioning, but the cross breeze through the condo in addition to fans will keep you plenty comfortable. The resort also offers complimentary beach toys and snorkel gear available for your use. The rooms have comfortable beds and offer fully stocked kitchens and the resort is located within walking distance to stores and is only a 10 minute drive away from Lahaina.
Maui Hawaii resorts come in all shapes and sizes, there are the typical expensive ones that are like a dream when you enter them, and then there are those that are hidden away and are a secret kept from most travelers. These smaller resorts still offer everything a traveler will need or want and should seriously be considered if you are on a budget but don’t want to skimp on your enjoyment. The Aston Mahana and Hale Mahina are just a couple of the options that fit this criteria.
